A typography type of day...

A visit to the National Railway Museum...?
Well, once I might have said 'Pah! No chance matey!'
However, I now have two train mad boys, a VERY stormy day, and a new way of looking at things!
Admittedly I have liked old train signs/posters/typography so I had hoped to find a bit of railway paraphernalia there for me too...
Think the Pullman was my favourite. (It reminds me of that Stella advert where everything is blue and yellow...?)

Of course, despite all the amazing steam trains, history and displays of moving turntables the boys turned to their old chum Thomas the Tank Engine for the best fun of the day. (Well, they are only 2 and 4...)

ps. Did you spot the brightly coloured additions to the rolling stock roof? We also took part in the easter egg hunt, which was another highlight to the boys' day. Well, the chocolate bit was the highlight. The hunt was just a means to an end. (!)

Hope you are all having good easter hols x

  3. Oh I haven't been there since my boy liked Thomas! He's nearly 9 now, so it's all about Super Mario these days. Love the typography images. Do you live in Yorkshire Jen? x

  4. Fabulous!

I can't say I'm keen on trains either - well not your common every day variety that is - but I do love looking at things in different ways too.
