Daily Bread...

I am lucky. I have a man who likes making bread.
He bothers about the mixing, the proving, the waiting, the cooking, the air, the texture, the crumb.
He is still working on his perfect loaf.

This one tasted and looked mighty fine to me.

We eschewed the traditional Sunday Roast today in favour of a slightly more European meal..

Well, except perhaps the Laughing Cow triangles!!

On a grey day such as today (it hasn't stopped either raining or snowing - but not *fun* snow T says!) this type of meal suits us well.
No moaning about *anything*, (even green things are devoured with enthusiasm) the wine flows, we eat and eat and keep on eating until there's nothing left. It's a slow meal, a bit here, a bit there, just the way we like it.
(In actual fact we ate much more than shown here but as soon as the rest was put on the table the boys really were all thinking I was a bit weird for taking pics of their lunch, so I gave up and tucked in.)

And so we dream of sunnier days and look forward to more of the same, and perhaps even a little holiday.....

Have a good week ahead friends x

Oh, and p.s. if you're in the UK there is *just* time to treat yourself or your loved one to a valentine message from my little print shop! Go see!

  6. There is nothing better than the smell of bread baking or the taste of warm bread fresh out of the oven (I know, I used to work in a bakery). You're a lucky woman! :) The meal looks delicious and your prints are lovely!

  7. Looks lovely! I adore meals like that, lots of tasty bits and pieces.
I find it hard to do blogging 'stuff' at the dinner table as I feel like a teenager with a game boy or mobile phone when I'm clicking away and everyone else is eating and talking, you know what I mean? If it's for a special event I have an excuse to takes pics but when it's just pancakes for breakfast I think I'm kinda spoiling the moment. It's a tough one! X

    1. Ha! I know exactly what you mean Anna, in fact I rarely have time to run upstairs, find my camera and run back down before the boys have already finished their meal!
